Black Rose Tattoo Emporium has been providing quality Tattooing & Piercing since 1993. It is our mission to create living works of art that our clients can be proud of. We believe the best way to achieve this goal is to discuss the design with the client and then make an informed judgement on size, placement etc.

Willy started tattooing in about 1983 in the lower part of the South Island of New Zealand. In 1991 he worked as a tattoo artist at Skin Show Tattoo in Stanmore Road, Christchurch. After one and a half years he left to open Black Rose Tattoo Emporium on Ferry Road. Over the past 15 years the business has become one of the few respected and trusted tattoo shops in Christchurch. Black Rose Tattoo has been piercing people since 1992, making it one of the oldest body piercing shops in Christchurch. Black Rose Tattoo has received several hundred awards from shows throughout New Zealand and overseas including a 1st place at a European Tattoo Show in Berlin in 2004. Willy also created “The Snake” in the New Zealand Hit Film “Snake Skin”.

Got my first tattoo when i was 15 years old and I was hooked, ever since then I have been around and getting tattooed for the last 25 years and got to meet quite a few different and interesting people, willy especially who offered me an apprenticeship and is also a great mate and now my teacher and mentor, I use to tattoo from home for a while taught myself a bit but not as much as i am being taught now, I intend to be tattooing for a number of years to come and producing some award winning ink.

Hi there, my name is Kyle Falcon and I’ve been in the Christchurch tattoo scene for around 22 years. I decided to pick up a tattoo machine and start pumping ink into people around 3 years ago. I recently picked up an apprenticeship working with Willy at Blackrose Tattoo Emporium, 380 Ferry Road, Christchurch.
I love doing most styles of tattooing, especially big colour work, it gives me alot of confidence when I see a smile on the customers face when they leave the shop.
I also enjoy tribal (yes that’s right, tribal!!) names. I get alot of inspiration from Mike Devries, Aaron Cain, Paul Booth & lots more overseas artists.
I also get inspiration to further my career from my boss and mentor Willy (Thanks Willy, you’re the best!!)
